Another
podium for Lindsey Kildow
Cortina d'Ampezzo, Jan. 14th - Lindsey
Kildow is accumulating top-3 finishes
this season - but she aims for more.
She wants so badly to win. That's
why she was not fully pleased with
her 2nd place in today's Super-G in
Cortina d'Ampezzo which she would
have won without her major mistake
in the middle of the course.
Today I skied much better in
this Super-G than in the first one
two days ago, but still, this is not
enough! she said. I really
pointed on this race. I made so many
mistakes. I cut my edges and blew
it right away in the top section.
That's more or less where I lost the
race. Fortunately, I've got a few
more Super-G left. I feel be ready
to race with no mistakes in the World
Championships.
You needed to ski the top with
much speed and precision. It was crucial
to keep the right line. In the middle
section, there are those big rollers
where everyone got surprised with.
At the bottom, there is this big jump
which makes you landing on the flats.
Being consistent
It's amazing to be so consistently
in the top-5, but I won the first
speed race and I didn't repeat this
win yet. I can say that I'm disappointed.
I'm hungry to win! It's not acceptable
in my mind that I'm still doing so
many mistakes in each run. I just
have to clean things up each time.
Hopefully I'll be able to put everything
together pretty soon. I'm building-up
my confidence in each race. I definitely
know that there is not a lot missing
for more wins. I want to win as many
races as I can. It's always difficult
to accept the fact that you're beaten.
In fact, it's even very disappointing.
I'm already watching ahead,
thinking at tomorrow's race. Like
other champions as Janica Kostelic
or Katja Seizinger, I started my career
as a slalom skier, and this is what
helps me to ski so well today. It
gives me all the technical part I
need to be completely excellent. That's
the main secret to be able to better
ski downhill. It gives me character
to my technique; my curves are much
more precise.
