The women´s schedule in overseas has been extended this year. In Canadian Panorama the alpine women complete a giant slalom and a slalom competition on November 24th and 25th. So Panorama is one of three Canadian hosts of the season 2007/2008 and for the first time a slalom and a giant slalom will get started in this skiing area.

World Cup in retrospect Panorama has already hosted the alpine Ski World Cup three times. 1985 Swiss Peter Müller in downhill and Pirmin Zurbriggen (Super G) were successful in the men´s speed races. Four years later the women completed two downhills where Petra Kronberger (AUT) won twice. But also the strong German team scored a good results as Michaela Gerg-Leitner and Katharina Gutensohn became second and third. After that quite a long time went by until five further speed races took place in Panorama in 1992. Once again Petra Kronberger celebrated a victory as well as Carole Merle. Moreover young Katja Seizinger convinced as third and fifth. Both men´s races were dominated by Swiss starters Wiliam Besse and Daniel Mahrer. First in Super G Guenther Mader was able to defeat the Swiss domination. He won ahead of famous athletes like Kjetil Andre Aamodt, Marc Girardelli and Markus Wasmeier.
Panorama – the skiing area Panorama Mountain Village is situated in the west of Invermere in British Columbia in the Candian Rocky Mountains. From Calgary you can reach it in about three hours by car. The village is surrounded by the Canadian Rocky Mountains and the ancient Purcell Mountains. So it offers a homelike atmosphere with many accommodations at the hillside. Most of the restaurants and bars can be reached afoot easily, also the Hot Fountains of Panorama Springs which are situated at the hillside as well.
Taynton Bowl is the biggest terrain of Panorama and was chosen as the best new skiing terrain by SKI and Ski Canada. The Powder-Bowl offers four square kilometres of backcountry where ski swings and long downhill pistes can be found. Beginners and advanced skiers will enjoy their time in the snow. For experts and advanced skiers there is a terrain park with rails, tabletops and half pipes. Skiing at night is also possible in the parks and the half pipe which you can reach from Toby chair lift.
