The women's super G in Sestriere will start at 11:00 am CET. It's the last but one super G competition of this season.

Favorites for today's Super-G which is the last but one of this season are Maria Riesch (GER), Emily Brydon (CAN), Elisabeth Görgl and Renate Götschl (AUT).
11:03 - Cook, Stacey (USA):
The US-American Stacey Cook has just opened the race.
11:06 - Cook, Stacey (USA):
Cook as the first starter is skiing kind of anxiously. She sets the first benchmark of 1:23.04 min.
11:08 - Suter, Fabienne (SUI):
The Swiss is skiing way smoother and also faster. Suter has a lead of two seconds.
11:09 - Sponring, Christine (AUT):
Now for the first Austrian. At the finish, Sponring is one second behind the Swiss.
11:11 - Styger, Nadia (SUI):
Styger is speeding but her run isn't without mistakes. At the finish she has a deficit of six tenth.

The weather conditions are optimal today. The sun is shining, there is hardly any wind and the temparatures are around 0° Celsius.
11:15 - Lindell-Vikarby, Jessica (SWE):
At the section below the first Swiss Lindell-Vikarby is way behind. At the finish, she's behind the Swiss with almost one second.
11:16 - Gut, Lara (SUI):
Can Gut beat her teammate? No, she misses a gate at the top and drops out!
11:17 - Schild, Martina (SUI):
Now for the Swiss Schild! She is skiing very aggressively at the upper section but she needs to get faster! All in all a clean run but still behind with one second at the finish.
11:21 - Janyk, Britt (CAN):
The first Canadian delivers a fast start. Janyk is the fastest one at the upper section up to now but at the jump she gets in supine position and therefore loses time. Below she is one second behind the still leading Suter.
11:23 - Meissnitzer, Alexandra (AUT):
At the upper section Meissnitzer is even faster than the Canadian. But below the Austrian still misses the best time by four tenth.
11:25 - Fischbacher, Andrea (AUT):
And yet another Austrian: Fischbacher delivers a clean run. Below she clocks the same time like Suter!
11:29 - Aufdenblatten, Fränzi (SUI):
Aufdenblatten is speeding at the top, there she has a lag of only eight thousandths. But at the middle section she gets stucked to a gate and falls! Fortunately the Swiss stands up again immediately.
11:31 - Mancuso, Julia (USA):
The US-Girl Mancuso is next. She is high performing and skiing smoothly at the upper section. But then a big mistake below so that she is eight tenth behind at the finish.
11:33 - Holaus, Maria (AUT):
Holaus from Austria with a severe crash at the upper section. She is lying dizzy in the safety net.

The race is of course interrupted now. It looked like a skiing mistake.

A helicopter is now on the way to get her. That doesn't look good at all. One have heard of back- and kneeproblems. We hope, she'll get well soon!
11:46 - Maze, Tina (SLO):
The race continues now! The Slovenian Maze is next. Under the helicopter noise she finishes in tenth place only.
11:48 - Görgl, Elisabeth (AUT):
Now for the old-hand Görgl. The Austrian delivers a harmonious run! At the finish she is five tenth behind the two leading athletes.
11:50 - Pärson, Anja (SWE):
The Swede Pärson is strong performing, especially at the flat gliding section. She loses the ideal line below though - a deficit of nine tenth.
11:51 - Götschl, Renate (AUT):
Götschl is real speeding! The Austrian is skiing very aggressivley but is still behind with four tenth at the finish.
11:53 - Vonn, Lindsey C. (USA):
The overall World Cup leader Vonn has started her run now.The US-girl is slightly behind at the top and loses even more time below. On the homestretch she's behind with more than one second.
11:54 - Hosp, Nicole (AUT):
Hosp from Austria is six tenth behind at the middle section already. 13th place for her only.
11:57 - Riesch, Maria (GER):
How will the best German and leader of the Super-G World Cup rankings perform? Riesch delivers a clean run and has a lead of two tenth at the upper section. She loses some time below though. At the finish she is three tenth behind - that's third place currently.
11:59 - Brydon, Emily (CAN):
Now for the winner of last week's Super-G in St. Moritz: Brydon with a fall at exactly the same spot like Aufdenblatten. Fortunately the Canadian stands up again immediately.
12:05 - Ceccarelli, Daniela (ITA):
The Italian Ceccarelli is next. She is skiing with a cruciate ligament lesion. She crosses the finish line with a lag of barely four seconds.
12:06 - Jacquemod, Ingrid (FRA):
Jacquemod from France is rather poor performing. At the finish she is two seconds behind the leading athletes.
12:08 - Schild, Marlies (AUT):
At the upper section Schild from Austria is very close to underbid the best time. However, she clearly loses time below. A lag of two seconds at the finish.
12:10 - Vanderbeek, Kelly (CAN):
The Canadian is speeding at the top. Just like the other athletes before also Vanderbeek loses time below. All in all she finishes with a deficit of two seconds.
12:12 - Berger, Silvia (AUT):
Now for the Autrian Berger. She is already behind with three tenth at the first section already. She loses more and more time and therefore finishes in 21st place only.
12:15 - Ruiz Castillo, Caroline (SPA):
Now comes the first and only Spain competeting in this race. Ruiz Castillo is high performing at the top but just like the other athletes she's behind at the homestretch. This time it's 1.5 seconds behind the leaders.
12:17 - Dumermuth, Monika (SUI):
The Swiss Dumermuth with a skidding mistake at the top. She drops out.
12:19 - Fanchini, Nadia (ITA):
The Italian Nadia Fanchini, who finished third at yesterday's downhill, isn't very fast today. Barely two seconds behind at the finish, that's 19th place.
12:20 - Zahrobska, Sarka (CZE):
Zahrobska from Czechia finishes in 24th place.
12:21 - Zettel, Kathrin (AUT):
The next Austrian does not even come close to the the best time. At the section below Zettel is behind with more than two seconds.
12:22 - Fenninger, Anna (AUT):
Her compatriot Fenninger is currently ranked 26th below. She is behind the leading athletes with almost three seconds.
12:23 - Stechert, Gina (GER):
Now for the second German: Stechert finishes in 27th place only.
12:25 - Marchand-Arvier, Marie (FRA):
Also the Frenchman can't attack the time of the leaders. Barely two seconds behind at the finish, that's 20th place currently.
12:27 - Kamer, Nadja (SUI):
Kamer from Switzerland is constantly losing time during her run. Looks like the course isn't in best condition anymore. A deficit of 2.5 seconds at the finish.
12:28 - Dettling, Andrea (SUI):
The next Swiss reaches the finish in 19th place.
12:29 - Gianesini, Giulia (ITA):
At the finish Gianesini from the host country is three seconds behind the best ones.

So this looks just like the result of this Super-G is definite by now.

Fischbacher (AUT) and Suter (SUI) share the first place with each other. Congratulation!

Third place goes to the German Riesch, who therefore slightly enlarges her chance of winning the World Cup in Super-G.
