The first run of the women's slalom in
Lienz starts at 10.15 a.m.

Good morning and welcome in
Lienz. After yesterday's giant slalom the alpine athletes have to compete in slalom today.
09:57 - Schild, Marlies (AUT):
After all Austrians were rather weak performing yesterday, they want to make up for it today. They have good chances as Marlies Schild already won the two first slalom races and the third slalom was won by Nicole Hosp.
09:59 - Hosp, Nicole (AUT):
With the starting numbers six to nine, we'll soon see four strong Austrians in a row: Niki Hosp, Marlies Schild, Michaela Kirchgasser and Kathrin Zettel.
10:04 - Bergmann, Monika (GER):
Today is also the day of Monika Bergmann's comeback from injury. The German will start 15th.
10:09 - Riesch, Maria (GER):
Maria Riesch will start the race right after her. The German lastly proved in the super-combined, that she's also fast in slalom. There she set up the best time.
10:11 - Hölzl, Kathrin (GER):
All in all nine German athletes are on today's starting list for the race on the Schlossberg course. Beside Bergmann and Riesch, Kathrin Hölzl, Fanny Chmelar, Carolin Fernsebner, Katharina Dürr, Susanne Riesch, Nina Perner and Monika Springl will also compete.
10:14 - Zahrobska, Sarka (CZE):
The Austrians belong of course to today's favorites. Sarka Zahrobska is still waiting for her first world cup victory. The Czech is in a good form lately, so we'll see her attacking again today.
10:17 - Zuzulova, Veronika (SVK):
The Slovak Veronika Zuzulova is a further candidate for a podium place today.
10:19 - Borssen, Therese (SWE):
The Swedes Therese Borssen, Anja Pärson and Maria Pietilae-Holmner are also strong competitors. Borssen will already start third.
10:20 - Poutiainen, Tanja (FIN):
Also Tanja Poutiainen has chances for a podium place. The Finn will start fifth, that means still good conditions for her.

All in all 68 athletes will compete in the last race of this year. Resi Stiegler won't attend the race as she crashed badly yesterday.
10:23 - Zahrobska, Sarka (CZE):
Sarka Zahrobska has just opened the race. The Czech clocks the first time of 1:01.22 minutes. With only 71 gates, this is a slow slalom.
10:25 - Zuzulova, Veronika (SVK):
Veronika Zuzulova is doing better. The Slovak almost delivers a clean run, she's constantly attacking. With 59.50 seconds, she did not even need one minute to cover the course.
10:27 - Borssen, Therese (SWE):
The Swede Borssen has a perfect line and clearly stays under the record.
10:30 - Jelusic, Ana (CRO):
Ana Jelusic is the first one not setting up a record here. She's behind with 16 hundreth at the top already. At the middle section, she's just as fast as Borssen. She even makes up for some time below. At the finish, Jelusic is still behind with four hundreth.
10:32 - Poutiainen, Tanja (FIN):
Poutiainen is already behind at the upper section. The Finn is getting faster in the middle section. She manages the final slope without any problems, she's the fastest one here and therefore even takes over the lead.
10:34 - Hosp, Nicole (AUT):
Now for the first Austrian today: Barely behind at the top, but Hosp is sensationally fast in the middle section, faster than Poutiainen. Mistake at the final slope, but still first place for her currently.
10:36 - Schild, Marlies (AUT):
At the top, Schild has a lead of six tenth on Hosp! But then she risks too much and slips away. She gives up after the second big mistake.
10:38 - Kirchgasser, Michaela (AUT):
Now for the third Austrian Kirchgasser: at the top, she's faster than Hosp. In the middle section, she can't keep up with her teammate any more. At the finish, she's behind with five tenth. That's fifth place.
10:40 - Zettel, Kathrin (AUT):
Drop-out for Kathrin Zettel. The fourth Austrian in a row straddles in.
10:41 - De Leymarie, Florine (FRA):
Also De Leymarie doesn't see the finish today. She drops out, too.
10:42 - Loeseth, Nina (NOR):
Nina Loeseth completey botches the middle section. She loses a great deal of time there. A deficit of 1.67 seconds at the finish - seventh place currently.
10:44 - Pietilae-Holmner, Maria (SWE):
Also Maria Pietilae-Holmner's run is not without mistakes. The Swede slips away once again when entering the final slope and finishes behind Loeseth.
10:47 - Pärson, Anja (SWE):
Already at the first intermediate time, Anja Pärson is behind with seven tenth. She often slips away in the middle section. At the second intermediate time, she's already behind with more than three seconds. Pärson gives up in the end.
10:48 - Costazza, Chiara (ITA):
Chiara Costazza surprises with a good run. The Italian beats the record by 57.96 seconds and takes over the lead.
10:50 - Bergmann, Monika (GER):
Monika Bergmann is strong performing. The German is behind with only 36 hundreth at the first intermediate time. But then she can't keep the line any more.
10:52 - Riesch, Maria (GER):
Riesch with problems in the first section. There, she's behind with three tenth. At the middle section she loses even more time. At the finish, she's ranked seventh.
10:53 - Mancuso, Julia (USA):
Mancuso completely botches the middle section. She loses more than two seconds there. She gets going below and finishes in eleventh place.
10:55 - Vonn, Lindsey C. (USA):
In the fight for the overall world cup, Lindsey Vonn is trying to get some points also in slalom. She finishes in tenth place.
10:57 - Gius, Nicole (ITA):
Nicole Gius, who finished third yesterday, can't keep up with the best ones today. She's behind with eight tenth at the top already. She reaches the finish with a deficit of more than two seconds - that's ninth place.
10:59 - Mölgg, Manuela (ITA):
Manuela Mölgg risks too much . Already at the top, the Italiann is behind with more than one second. Place 12 for her currently.
11:00 - Fleiss, Nika (CRO):
Nika Fleiss straddles in and is the next drop-out.
11:00 - Hansdotter, Frida (SWE):
With a deficit of 4.65 seconds, Frida Hansdotter is the new tailender.
11:02 - Karasinska, Katarzyna (POL):
The Pole Karasinska has big problems, too. At the finish, she's barely ranked ahead of Hansdotter.
11:04 - Hölzl, Kathrin (GER):
At the first intermeditat time, Hölzl is behind with eigth tenth. She slips too often in the middle section and loses more time. She slips away on the final slope and drops out.
11:05 - Aubert, Sandrine (FRA):
Sandrine Aubert delivered a great run. Second place for her currently.
11:06 - Leinonen, Sanni (FIN):
At the first section, the Finn is behind with 1.5 seconds already. At the finish, she's ranked 16th.
11:07 - Chmelar, Fanny (GER):
Now for the third German: Fanny Chmelar finishes in 16th place. That should be enough for the final.
11:10 - Ceresa, Annalisa (ITA):
Annalisa Ceresa in contrast is a little faster. At the finish, the Italian is behind with 2.2 seconds. That's place 13. But it looks like she straddled in and will therefore get disqualified.
11:11 - Camastral, Aita (SUI):
Now for the first Swiss: Aita Camastral finishes in 14th place. The Swiss don't have any top athletes for this disciplines.
11:13 - Gini, Sandra (SUI):
Maybe they have! Sandra Gini is fast and even finishes among the top ten. With a deficit of 1.32 seconds, she's currently ranked ninth.
11:15 - Karbon, Denise (ITA):
Denise Karbon, series winner in giant slalom, reaches the finish with a deficit of 1.9 seconds.
11:17 - Görgl, Elisabeth (AUT):
At the finish, Görgl is behind with 3.8 seconds. Currently 23rd place, will that be enough for the final?
11:18 - Hangl, Celina (SUI):
The Swiss are doing good today: Celina Hangl his heading down the course and finishes in 12th place.
11:19 - Bonjour, Aline (SUI):
Aline Bonjour is a further Swiss, who qualifies for the final.
11:20 - Dürr, Katharina (GER):
The young German Katharina Dürr with starting number 36 reaches the finish after 1:00.76 minutes.
11:21 - Riesch, Susanne (GER):
Susanne Riesch is the next one dropping out.
11:22 - Triendl, Kathrin (AUT):
Kathrin Triendl finishes in seventh place. At the finish, the Austrian is behind with 88 hundreths.
11:24 - Ferk, Marusa (SLO):
The slope conditions are still good. The Slovenian Marusa Ferk finishes in eleventh place.
11:26 - Perner, Nina (GER):
At the top, Nina Perner is behind with 1.12 seconds. But she loses more time below. At the finish, she's currently ranked 24th.
11:28 - Springl, Monika (GER):
Monika Sprinlg definitely won't attend the final, she only finished 30th. The rest of the starters probably won't be faster than Springl.
11:29 - Costazza, Chiara (ITA):
So that was it for the first heat. Chiara Costazza and Sandrina Aubert are suprisingly leading.

Lienz for the last decisision of the alpine ski world cup in 2007.
13:18 - Goodman, Anna (CAN):
Anna Goodmann with starting number 56 just qualified for the final. The Canadian will be the first one on the course.
13:20 - Goodman, Anna (CAN):
The race has started! Goodmann is rather skiing cautiously. All she wanst is getting some world cup points for the very first time in her career.
13:22 - Dürr, Katharina (GER):
Now for the first German: Katharina Dürr increases her lead, she seems to be much more motivated. She sets up the first good time of 1:59.13 minutes.
13:24 - Perner, Nina (GER):
Also Nina Perner is attacking. The German, who fought herself back into the team, is speeding but straddles in shortly before the finish. That's bitter as she was clearly leading.
13:25 - Drev, Ana (SLO):
Ana Drev can't beat Dürr's time neither. The Slovenian slips away too often.
13:27 - Pietilae-Holmner, Maria (SWE):
Pietilae-Holmner is close to the gates. She delivers a clean run. She's leading at the intermediate times. At the finish, the Swede takes over the lead.
13:29 - Nigg, Marina (LIE):
Marina Nigg is too cautious here. The course is very straight, so she's got to get going! She can't beat the record, but still second place for her currently.
13:30 - Berthod, Pascale (SUI):
Pascale Berthod with some problems. The Swiss has to risk more, she's skiing too passively. She drops back to fifth place.
13:32 - Mölgg, Manuela (ITA):
Manuela Mölgg attacks, because she wasn't content with her first run. However, the Italian can't get ahead of the Swede neither.
13:34 - Kurfürstova, Eva (CZE):
Kurfürstova is fast and even increases her lead at the top. At the middle section she drops back though. All in all fourth place for her. She's still happy for receiving world cup points.
13:35 - Camastral, Aita (SUI):
Aita Camastral with a good start. The Swiss is strong performing at the top and increases her lead there. At the finish, she takes over the lead!
13:37 - Vonn, Lindsey C. (USA):
Also Lindsey Vonn is attending the final today. The US-American is too passive, but all she wants is getting some points for the overall world cup. Sixth place ought to be enough for that!
13:39 - Loeseth, Nina (NOR):
Nina Loeseth is way too cautious at the top. She gets going later on and misses the top time by just two hundreths.
13:41 - Gius, Nicole (ITA):
Nicole Gius has some problems on this straight course. The Italian loses her lead at the first section already. All in all, she's behind with 1.3 seconds at the finish.
13:42 - Hangl, Celina (SUI):
Hangl with a weak run. Too slow, too cautious - she drops way behind.
13:45 - Karbon, Denise (ITA):
Also yesterday's winner Karbon loses time on Camastral in the first section already. However, she gets going on the final slope. While the audience is cheering, she beats the record by one hundredth!
13:47 - Bonjour, Aline (SUI):
Aline Bonjour doesn't come along well with the course. Fifht place for her currently.
13:49 - Grand, Rabea (SUI):
Rabea Grand has too apply the edges several times and therefore loses time. On the steep final slope, she loses more time. The Swiss drops back to eights place.
13:51 - Zuzulova, Veronika (SVK):
Zuzulova proves once again, that she's good in slalom. She keeps her speed from gate to gate, loses some time on the final slope though, but at the finish, she still has a lead of three hundredths.
13:53 - Dautherives, Claire (FRA):
Dautherives gets close to the gates. The Frenchman delivers a good run, even increases her lead before entering the steep slope. Also below, she's strong performing. She takes over the lead!
13:55 - Ferk, Marusa (SLO):
In contrast to Dautherives, Marusa Ferk is not close enough to the gates! Additionally she's too slow and therefore finishes in sixth place only.
13:57 - Gini, Sandra (SUI):
Now for the best ten athletes. Sandra Gini comes first: she's skiing way too cautiously. The Swiss finishes in eleventh place only.
13:59 - Riesch, Maria (GER):
Maria Riesch slows down too much at the top and the time is gone. She's doing better below. Clean rhythm and very fast! The German takes over the lead!
14:01 - Kirchgasser, Michaela (AUT):
At the top, Kirchgasser is better than Riesch. At the final slope, Kirchgassers gets way off the line and can't reach the top time.
14:02 - Triendl, Kathrin (AUT):
Kathrin Triendl finishes in fourth place. All in all a good run, but always not close enough to the gates.
14:05 - Jelusic, Ana (CRO):
At the top, Jelusic is attacking. There, she has a lead of almost seven tenth on Riesch. But she loses time below, once she's even standing crossways. Riesch keeps the lead, Jelusic is currenlty ranked second.
14:07 - Borssen, Therese (SWE):
Therese Borssen is way too passive. The Swede isn't attacking at all, so that she drops back to seventh place.
14:09 - Poutiainen, Tanja (FIN):
Poutiainen starts with a lead of 65 hundredths. She delivers a clean run, no problems at the transition and also strong performing on the final slope. All in all it's enough for the Finn to take over the lead!
14:12 - Hosp, Nicole (AUT):
Shortly before the first intermediate time, Hosp is skiing on just one of her skis. This mistakes costs time! The audience is cheering for her. Hosp succeeds and takes over the lead!
14:13 - Aubert, Sandrine (FRA):
Now for Aubert! The Frenchman needs to calm down, she is skiing too cautiously. Fifth place for her. Still a great result for her!
14:16 - Costazza, Chiara (ITA):
Costazza or Schild? Costazza with a good start. She risks all and wins all. After ten years, it's finally an Italian again winning the slalom!
14:17 - Hosp, Nicole (AUT):
Second place goes to Niki Hosp, who barley missed a home victory today. Tanja Poutiainen finished third.
14:19 - Riesch, Maria (GER):
Best German today is Maria Riesch, she finished fourth.
