09:57:

At 12.15 p.m. the Men's super G will start in Gröden. We will be reporting live of course.

11:57:

Welcome to the 40. guest performance of the ski world cup in Val Gardena.

12:07 - Walchhofer, Michael (AUT):

Top favorite for today is Michael Walchhofer with starting number one. He dominated in the downhill training and comes along well on the Saslong.

12:09 - Keppler, Stephan (GER):

Right after him follows Stephan Keppler. He finished eights last year.

12:12 - Raich, Benjamin (AUT):

Further favorites are rather from Austria. Four of the best five places in this discipline are Austrians, among them first of all Benni Raich.

12:14 - Reichelt, Hannes (AUT):

Then follow Hannes Reichelt, Mario Scheiber and Christoph Gruber.

12:16 - Reichelt, Hannes (AUT):

Reichelt won the last race in Beaver Creek. He can confirm his performance today. But there are indeed some competitors for the Austrians.

12:18 - Guay, Erik (CAN):

Erik Guay for instance. The Candian was the fastest one in the trial heat.

12:20 - Walchhofer, Michael (AUT):

The race has started. Good run of the Austrian - but at the end of the ciaslat, he has some problems and barely makes it to the next gate.

12:22 - Keppler, Stephan (GER):

Now for the German Keppeler. He is better in the middle section but loses his ideal line later. He misses a gate and is out.

12:25 - Görgl, Stephan (AUT):

Goergl loses half a second above. But he comes along better with the last section, can keep his line and takes over the lead!

12:27 - Grünenfelder, Tobias (SUI):

Now for the first Swiss. But Tobias Gruenenfelder slips away over the inside ski and falls. He slowly slides down the slope. Drop-out number two - nothing happend to him though.

12:28 - Albrecht, Daniel (SUI):

Smooth run of Albrecht - you can hardly see how fast he his. A little too late at two gates...

12:29 - Albrecht, Daniel (SUI):

... then a far jump, too far. He cants and falls, too. Third drop-out!

12:31 - Innerhofer, Christof (ITA):

Innerhofer has big problems on the ciaslat. But the young Italian manages it and finishes in third place.

12:32 - Zurbriggen, Silvan (SUI):

Zurbriggen as well loses some time, he skis way too cautiously. He could have done better.

12:36 - Guay, Erik (CAN):

Erik Guay in contrast is much faster! At the first section he's even faster than Walchofer. Will keep his speed at the cruxes, too?

12:38 - Guay, Erik (CAN):

Yes, at the finish, Guay has a lead of four tenth. That'll be hard to top!

12:39 - Büchel, Marco (LIE):

But now for Marco Buechel - he even has a lead after the camel bunches. He's good on the ciaslat and finishes in first place!

12:41 - Hudec, Jan (CAN):

And the next Candadian: third place for Hudec currently.

12:43 - Fill, Peter (ITA):

Now comes the local athlete Peter Fill. He's not as self-assured as last season, yet. He constantly loses time here. Seventh place, same time with Zurbriggen.

12:44 - Streitberger, Georg (AUT):

Georg Streitberger is trying hard on the ciaslat in order to keep his line. He drops back.

12:46 - Defago, Didier (SUI):

At the first section, Defago falls behind, but after 30 seconds he gets going. Good run - that'll be close and it's enough for second place.

12:47 - Staudacher, Patrick (ITA):

Now for the world champion. He loses time at the jumps. But he makes up some time below - fourth place.

12:50 - Reichelt, Hannes (AUT):

Now for the winner of Beaver Creek. At the first section, Reichelt is better than the racers before. He could set up a new record. But Reichelt is too close at the gates for too many times and falls behind.

12:51 - Maier, Hermann (AUT):

After 15 starters, Marco Buechel is leading ahead of Didier Defago and Erik Guay. But seven favorites are still waiting for the start. Hermann Maier is the next one.

12:53 - Maier, Hermann (AUT):

Maier has started. Clean and fast run. He's barely behind after the ciaslat...

12:55 - Maier, Hermann (AUT):

... but it's not enough for Maier! Fifth place at the finish - and he shakes his head.

12:58 - Raich, Benjamin (AUT):

Now for Benjamin Raich, who is surprisingly leading the super-g standings. He's skiing cautiously here, but still not a bad time. Fifth place for him currently.

12:58 - Kucera, John (CAN):

John Kucera is way too cautious, only eleventh place for him today.

13:00 - Scheiber, Mario (AUT):

Now for the Austrian Scheiber. He's doing much better. Nice jumps, but after the ciaslat he slips far away and loses his chance for a top result.

13:03 - Gruber, Christoph (AUT):

Now it's about the victory: Gruber, Miller and Cuche follow. Gruber is doing good at the upper section, but loses time at the gliding section. That wasn't a perfect run, ninth place. It looks like a weak result for Austria today.

13:05 - Miller, Bode (USA):

Bode Miller is fastl! Great run of the American. It's enough for the lead. Two hundreth ahead. Buechel is angry in the finish.

13:06 - Cuche, Didier (SUI):

Now for Cuche but he loses his line at the upper part. Cuche attacks....

13:08 - Cuche, Didier (SUI):

... and succeeds! Cuche is leading with two hundreth again. It couldn't be more thrilling!

13:11 - Cuche, Didier (SUI):

So it's Cuche ahead of Miller now - Marco Buechel in third place has a deficit of only four hundreths. At the finish, Cuche shows his ski-trick.

13:13 - Jerman, Andrej (SLO):

But was this the decision already? There are still some good racers left. Andrej Jerman for instance. But the Slovenian loses one second today and falls behind.

13:14 - Girardi, Walter (ITA):

Walter Girardi as well finishes in place 15 only.

13:15 - Hoffmann, Ambrosi (SUI):

Also Hoffmann doesn't get close to the Cuche's time. He finishes among the last place.

13:16 - Dalcin, Pierre-Emmanuel (FRA):

Pierre-Emmanuel Dalcin is the next one dropping out.

13:19 - Nyman, Steven (USA):

But attention should be paid to the next starter Steven Nyman. He won the downhill last season. He skis aggressively here, but then an inside ski mistake and Nyman is out.

13:21 - Lanzinger, Matthias (AUT):

What can Matthias Lanzinger do for the Austrian result today? Raich as seventh is currently the best Austrian - but Lanzinger, too, slips away and is out.

13:22 - Cuche, Didier (SUI):

So Cuche will win this race for sure, ahead of Miller and Buechel.

13:23 - Heel, Werner (ITA):

Werner Heel is behind with two seconds, he wasn't very convincing.

13:25 - Bourque, Francois (CAN):

Francois Bourque won't start today, therefore the best 30 are already through. Olivier Brand is the next one.

13:26 - Brand, Olivier (SUI):

But Brand falls way behind. Christoph Alster, who starts his race right after him, is even worse. The race is already decided here.

13:28 - Cuche, Didier (SUI):

Congratulation to Didier Cuche for his seventh world-cup victory. He'll get his next chance tomorrow.

13:30:

The downhill race is scheduled for December 15th at 12:15 p.m. (CET) and takes place here on the saslong. We'll be there in time to report on it. See you!
