This is the last race in North America for the alpine ski racers before they'll get back to Europe.
17:42 - Schild, Marlies (AUT):
Today's favorite is again Marlies Schild. The Austrian fortunately didn't get injured at yesterday's chaos-downhill and wants her third victory in slalom this season.
17:46 - Schild, Marlies (AUT):
After her suprising second place yesterday, Schild could get 100 further points in the over all world cup standings.
17:48 - Hosp, Nicole (AUT):
Another big favorite is Schild's teammate Nicole Hosp. She decided not to start at yesterday's downhill.
17:51 - Zahrobska, Sarka (CZE):
But as well current slalom word champion Zahrobska is crazy about her first world cup victory.
17:53 - Zuzulova, Veronika (SVK):
First one on the slope will be Veronika Zuzulova.

All in all 55 athletes wil compete for the first 30 places in order to qualify for the final.

Five German athletes will attend today's race. One of them is Kathrin Hoelzl, she'll start her race on the slope "Ruthies Run" as 24th.

The forerunners are on the slope and the first starters are getting ready for the start.

The race has started! Veronika Zuzulova opens the third slalom of the seasonn.

The Slovak clocks the first time of 46,61 seconds.

Now for Tanja Poutiainen. The Finn is half a second faster than Zuzulova. That's a lot.
18:06 - Zahrobska, Sarka (CZE):
Sarka Zahrobska can't keep up with the good performance of Tanja Poutiainen. The Czech finishes in last place.
18:08 - Jelusic, Ana (CRO):
Good run until the intermediate time. At the section below, Ana Jelusic makes a big mistake though and loses more than a second.
18:09 - Schild, Marlies (AUT):
Now for the top favorite: Marlies Schild doesn't look as good as usual here. It's currently just enough for fourth place, but she surely get going in the final.
18:12 - Hosp, Nicole (AUT):
Niki Hosp is doing better. At the finish, the Austrian is behind Poutiainen with just three hundreths. Second place currently.
18:14 - Borssen, Therese (SWE):
Therese Borssen reaches the finish with a deficit of three tenth. Third place for the Swede.
18:15 - Zettel, Kathrin (AUT):
Now for the third Austrian already: Kathrin Zettel is doing much better than in her last races. Third place for her, she's behind with just one tenth.
18:17 - Stiegler, Resi (USA):
Now for local athlete Resi Stiegler. Her run is not without mistakes, at the finish she's currently in last place.
18:18 - De Leymarie, Florine (FRA):
She's good until the intermediate time. De Leymarie has problems at the section below, at the finish she's even behind Stiegler .
18:19 - Costazza, Chiara (ITA):
Fall! Chiara Costazza was too risky below. The Italian is today's first drop-out.
18:22 - Pärson, Anja (SWE):
Anja Paerson falls down, too. This season isn't working out at all for the Swede so far.
18:23 - Gius, Nicole (ITA):
Nicole Gius is constantly losing time. At the finish, she's behind with one second - that's eights place currently.
18:24 - Pietilae-Holmner, Maria (SWE):
Just like her teammate Paerson, Maria Pietilae-Holmner drops out quickly, too.
18:26 - Loeseth, Nina (NOR):
Nina Loeseth is too cautious. The Norwegian is behind with more than two seconds. Last place for her.
18:28 - Riesch, Maria (GER):
Maria Riesch has some problems at the first section already. She even doubles her deficit below, so at the finish she's behind first place with 1,5 seconds.
18:29 - Mancuso, Julia (USA):
Julia Mancuso with a weak performance. At the finish, she's behind with almost three seconds!
18:30 - Vonn, Lindsey C. (USA):
Lindsey Vonn isn't doing much better. The speed expert finishes in 14th place.
18:31 - Mölgg, Manuela (ITA):
Fourth drop-out! This time it's Manuela Moelgg. That was it for her today.
18:32 - Fleiss, Nika (CRO):
Nika Fleiss is behind with more than half a second at the intermediate time already. The Croation has problems below, too. Place 15.
18:35 - Karasinska, Katarzyna (POL):
How will the Pole perform here? Ok at the upper section, but she lost her good line below. Karasinska drops way back.
18:37 - Leinonen, Sanni (FIN):
Sanni Leinonen is struggling with the slope, which is not in best condition any more. She gives all, but 48.77 seconds are just enough for 16th place.
18:40 - Ceresa, Annalisa (ITA):
Ceresa as well has problems with the snow conditions. The Italian straddles a gate and drops out.
18:41 - Hölzl, Kathrin (GER):
Now for the second German Kathrin Hoelzl. Good run of her under this conditions - place 13.
18:42 - Richardson, Kaylin (USA):
Richardson is attacking the poles and finishes in 15th place.
18:44 - Aubert, Sandrine (FRA):
Sandrine Aubert risks all. The Frenchman has success and finishes in 12th place ahead of her teammate.
18:46 - Gini, Sandra (SUI):
Sandra Gini with big problems at the upper section already. The Swiss can't really find the rhythm and is behind with more than three seconds at the finish.
18:47 - Hansdotter, Frida (SWE):
Frida Hansdotter isn't close enough to the gates, that costs time. The Swede finishes in 19th place.
18:48 - Chmelar, Fanny (GER):
+ 2,32 seconds for Fanny Chmelar. That should be enough for the final.
18:49 - Bonjour, Aline (SUI):
Aline Bonjour is the next starter, who doesn't see the finish today. The Swiss has slipped away at the upper section.
18:51 - Riesch, Susanne (GER):
Meanwhile the conditions got really hard. Susanne Riesch has problems at the beginning already and then even straddles a gate and drops out.
18:53 - Dautherives, Claire (FRA):
Claire Dautherives delivers a good start, at least she's not losing a lot of time. All in all a good run of the Frenchman, place 13.
18:54 - Triendl, Kathrin (AUT):
Will that be enough for the final? Kathrin Triendl doesn't come along well and finishes in place 26. She's got to wait now.
18:56 - Perner, Nina (GER):
Now for Nina Perner with starting number 38. The young German delivers a weak performance. We won't see her in the final.
18:59 - Camastral, Aita (SUI):
At the intermediate time, Aita Camastral is behind with just eight tenth. But then the Swiss has some problems, but still finishes in 21st place. That should be enough for the final. Nina Perner will therefore not attend the second heat.
19:01 - Streng, Simone (AUT):
Simone Streng finishes just ahead of Camastral. The Austrian therefore qualifies for the final, too.
19:02 - Drev, Ana (SLO):
Place 21 seems to be very popular. Now it's Ana Drev finishing in this position.
19:03 - Poutiainen, Tanja (FIN):
There won't be a leader change any more. After the first heat, Tanja Poutiainen has the lead.
19:04 - Hosp, Nicole (AUT):
The two Austrians Nicole Hosp and Kathrin Zettel are currently ranked second and third.
19:06 - Schild, Marlies (AUT):
Marlies Schild is currently ranked seventh only. But she'll get going in the final to get her third victory this season.

Denise Karbon, who won the giant slalom for the second time this season, qualified for the second heat, too. She is behind with 2,58 seconds.

After the first heat, Tanja Poutiainen has tbe best chances to win. The Finn benefited from her low starting number. As second starter, she still had good snow conditons.

If she wants to win, she'll have to prove in the final, that she also comes along well with more difficult conditions here in Colorado.

Right behind Poutiainen, follow Nicole Hosp and Kathrin Zettel. But also Marlies Schild, who finished the first heat in seventh place only, still wants to get a podium place.

Meanwhile the forerunners are on the slope. We are looking forward to a thrilling slalom final!

Celina Hangl has just opened the race.

The young Swiss delivers a good run, she's into the rhythm. At the finish, she has a time of 1:37,79 minutes all in all.

The Pole is way behind at the upper section already. Big deficit at the finish.
21:07 - Mancuso, Julia (USA):
Julia Mancuso attacks. The US-American slips away several times, that costs time. At the finish, she's behind Hangl, too.
21:08 - Kurfürstova, Eva (CZE):
The Czech Kurfuerstova can't beat the record neither. She's still smiling at the finsih.
21:10 - Leinonen, Sanni (FIN):
Now for a further 18 year old in the final: Sanni Leinonen isn't close enough to the gates. Better below, but she can't make it up any more.
21:11 - Hansdotter, Frida (SWE):
Frida Hansdotter is trying to apply the edges just for a short time only. She sets up a new record!
21:13 - Camastral, Aita (SUI):
Aita Camastral has little problems with the bumps. Then some mistakes. It's enough for fourth place currently.
21:14 - Streng, Simone (AUT):
And now for Simone Streng. The young Austrian has to apply the edges strongly. It's enough for third place so far.
21:16 - Karbon, Denise (ITA):
With starting number 45, Denise Karbon has still qualified for the final. She's currently in good form. She's ranked second at the finish.
21:17 - Drev, Ana (SLO):
Ana Drev is always too late at the gates. She's too passive afterwards - fifth place.
21:18 - Fleiss, Nika (CRO):
She lost her lead at the upper section already. At the steep section, Fleiss is skiing too cautious. That wasn't her best run today.
21:19 - Chmelar, Fanny (GER):
Now for the first German Fanny Chmelar. She doesn't get the perfect line. Fourth place for her.
21:22 - Vonn, Lindsey C. (USA):
Lindsey Vonn was close to a drop out at the first gates already. However, she's attacking now but then gets lifted up.
21:26 - Richardson, Kaylin (USA):
Same thing happens to Richardson. She still continues her run just like Vonn did.
21:28 - Loeseth, Nina (NOR):
Nina Loeseth is the next one. The young Norwegian with two mistakes at the upper section already. Only eleventh place.
21:29 - Hölzl, Kathrin (GER):
Kathrin Hoelzl delivers a good run, it's only enough for third place though.
21:30 - De Leymarie, Florine (FRA):
De Leymarie finishes in seventh place.
21:31 - Dautherives, Claire (FRA):
Now for a further Frenchman: Dautherives can't keep up with Hansdotter neither. The slope's conditions aren't good at all any more.
21:33 - Aubert, Sandrine (FRA):
Sandrine Aubert starts the final with a lead of 84 hundreths. But the third Frenchman in a row loes a whole second at the upper section already. At the finish she's behind with 1.4 seconds.
21:35 - Riesch, Maria (GER):
Already at the third gate, Maria Riesch slightly slips away. That costs a great deal of time. Second place at the finish.
21:38 - Stiegler, Resi (USA):
Stiegler wants to win, she gives full risk and barely misses the best time. At the finish, she has a deficit of 21 hundreths only.
21:39 - Jelusic, Ana (CRO):
Jelusic loses sixth tenth at the upper section. Below it's further 1.5 seconds.
21:39 - Gius, Nicole (ITA):
Now for the best eight. The Italian edges and drops out.
21:40 - Schild, Marlies (AUT):
Also Marlies Schild doesn't reach the finish today. The Austrian straddles a gate and falls. Therefore Frida Hansdotter is still leading.
21:42 - Zahrobska, Sarka (CZE):
Zahrobska loses time at the upper section, but still takes over the lead at the finish.
21:43 - Zuzulova, Veronika (SVK):
The Slovak Veronika Zuzulova has little problems and stays behind Zahrobska at the finish.
21:44 - Borssen, Therese (SWE):
Therese Borssen is trying hard to come along with the bumps. It's better below, close line of the Swede and first place at the finish.
21:46 - Zettel, Kathrin (AUT):
Leader change again! Zettel takes over first place at the finish.
21:48 - Hosp, Nicole (AUT):
Hosp applies the edges just for a short time only. At the finish, she has a lead of 1.34 seconds. Great run of the Austrian.
21:49 - Poutiainen, Tanja (FIN):
Can Poutiainen keep up? Little problems at the upper section, but she still finishes in second place.
21:50 - Hosp, Nicole (AUT):
Congratulation to Nicole Hosp, who secured the victory in slalom.

Second place goes to Tanja Poutiainen, who was the leader of the first heat.
21:53 - Zettel, Kathrin (AUT):
Kathrin Zettel is back! After her injury, the Austrian finally got back to her old form and finished third.
