After the women fought out three speed races in 2006, the alpine men returned to Bad Kleinkirchheim after 15 years of break.

World Cup Event 2007
Saturday, December 8th 2007: Men´s Giant Slalom
Sunday, December 9th 2007: Men´s Slalom

Women´s races 2006 in retrospect
Two winters ago the women competed for the first time on the new Hans Klammer piste. There Janica Kostelic celebrated victories both in downhill and super G for the first time in her career. However in the first downhill competition Kostelics great competitor Anja Paerson was the winner. By a hair the Swede won ahead of Michaela Dorfmeister (AUT) and Swiss Fraenzi Aufdenblatten and the top three ranked within only eight hundredths of a second.

Review on the last men´s World Cup
The last men´s World Cup took place many years ago. In 1992´s super G Armin Assinger (AUT) won ahead of his team mate Leonard Stock and Kjetil Andre Aamodt from Norway.

Drawback because of lack of guarantee
Before 2006 there hadn´t been a World Cup race in Bad Kleinkirchheim for a very long time. Kaernten´s government had supported the expansion of the K 70 piste in the past. As the charges amounted to 16 million euro the organizers wanted the FIS´s assurance that there would be at least five World Cup races within ten years. But the FIS refused such a guarantee. Instead the government of Kaernten decided to push the expansion of the "Strohsack" downhill which was renamed as Hans Klammer downhill afterwards.

Location: Bad Kleinkirchheim
As if in a painting, Bad Kleinkirchheim is nestled in the magnificient mountain landscape of the Nock Mountains - thus best describes the idyllic mountains south of the Alp's main crest. Bad Kleinkirchheim is modern, contemporary and traditional. In addition to its idyllic village atmosphere, the location offers a variety of recreational activities in both the winter and summer. Bad Kleinkirchheim has countless shops, restaurants and locations for relaxtion and reflection. Cozy cabins are as plentiful as the exclusive mountaintop bars. The special highlight of Bad Kleinkirchheim is, however, its thermal springs. The Thermal Römerbad and the Therme St. Katherin are considered to be quintessential for ultimate well-being.
