11:33:

The first women's super G will start at 19 h CET. We will be right there!

18:46:

Welcome to Lake Louise, where we have a ladies' Super G competition scheduled for today.

18:47:

It is cold again in Lake Louise: -9 degrees. The sky is cloudy.

18:48:

It is the first ladies' Super G in this winter. We expect the Austrian and the US girls to fight for the podium positions.

18:49 - Vonn, Lindsey C. (USA):

After her downhill victory yesterday, Lindsey Vonn is to be ranked high in today's competition, too.

18:50 - Götschl, Renate (AUT):

Renate Goetschl and Niki Hosp are carrying the Austrian hopes.

18:50 - Mancuso, Julia (USA):

Julia Mancuso could not show a convincing performance yesterday, she wants to make up for that today.

18:51 - Riesch, Maria (GER):

Among the favorites are also Maria Riesch and Anja Pärson. Riesch performed well yesterday, Pärson is always on the list of favorites.

18:56:

The forerunners are checking out the course already. In about 5 minutes we will see the first athlete.

19:03 - Schild, Marlies (AUT):

Marlies Schild is opening the race today. She is having some difficulties in the upper part, but then her race doesn't look too bad. The following athletes will show what her time is worth.

19:05 - Ludlow, Libby (USA):

Mistake in the Fallaway, Libby Ludlow almost slips there and has to fight to stay on her skies. Still ahead of Schild at the intermediate! She extends her leap in the final passage - 0.36 seconds faster than Schild in the finish.

19:06 - Lindell-Vikarby, Jessica (SWE):

A good performance of Jessica, Lindell-Vikarby, especially in the Fallaway section! In the finish she is 1.4 seconds ahead and takes over the lead.

19:07 - Richardson, Kaylin (USA):

Drop-out! Kaylin Richardson misses the Fallaway entrance and has to cancel her run.

19:09 - Berger, Silvia (AUT):

Silvia Berger does not ski with ultimate risk in the Fallaway. She is about a second behind in the finish.

19:11 - Marchand-Arvier, Marie (FRA):

Another drop-out! Marie Marchand-Arvier hits the Fallaway entrance well, but misses a gate shortly afterwards.

19:13 - Alcott, Chemmy (GBR):

Difficulties over the jump - Chemmy Alcott loses time there and comes in on the 4th position.

19:14 - Riesch, Maria (GER):

Maria Riesch is one of the favorites today. She likes Lake Louise, has won races here and reached an excellent 4th position in the downhill race yesterday.

19:15 - Riesch, Maria (GER):

Riesch is the new leader! A strong performance, although there were a few tiny mistakes after the Fallaway entrance. Riesch is 0.22 seconds ahead of Lindell-Vikarby.

19:16 - Vanderbeek, Kelly (CAN):

The crowd is cheering for Kelly Vanderbeek now. She was 3rd here last year, and is 3rd in the finish as well, slightly ahead of Berger.

19:18 - Fischbacher, Andrea (AUT):

The downhill competition yesterday didn't go well for Andrea Fischbacher. A mistake in the Fallaway, that cost time, especially since Riesch had a perfect run in the last section. Fischbacher is 3rd currently.

19:20 - Styger, Nadia (SUI):

Yesterday was not the day of the Swiss team. Today they want more, starting with Nadia Styger now. Good after the first part, but then her speed isn't high enough after the Fallaway. Styger is 4th.

19:22 - Aufdenblatten, Fränzi (SUI):

Teammate Fränzi Aufdenblatten follows. She's on a good course in the Fallaway, but still behind at the intermediates, her speed is not high enough in the flat passage. 0.3 seconds behind, that's the 3rd position currently.

19:23 - Sponring, Christine (AUT):

Drop out! Christine Sponring has a black out and hits a combination of gates from the wrong angle. She misses a gate and skies out.

19:27 - Schild, Martina (SUI):

We have a new leader! A strong performance of Martina Schild, especially the Fallaway passage is skied brilliantly. Lots of speed in the final flat part, where she loses a bit compared to Riesch. Still, Schild is 0.2 seconds ahead in the finish and takes over the lead.

19:28 - Brydon, Emily (CAN):

Big mistakes in the Fallaway - Emily Brydon is over a second behind at the intermediates already. She is disappointed in the finish.

19:31 - Meissnitzer, Alexandra (AUT):

It is getting windy in the first section of the course. Alexandra Meissnitzer performs well there, in the Fallaway, too. Still some time lost throughout the course, Meissnitzer is 4th in the finish.

19:32 - Mancuso, Julia (USA):

Another favorite now, Julia Mancuso. The wind is getting stronger, and even disturbing. Snowdust is raised, that causes difficulties in sight for the athletes. Mancuso is 7th after this run.

19:35 - Hosp, Nicole (AUT):

No more wind for Niki Hosp now - the weather is changing fast here in Lake Louise. Wrong direction in the Coaches Corner - that cost time! 6th position, Hosp barely avoided a drop-out.

19:35 - Janyk, Britt (CAN):

Britt Janyk surprised us with her 3rd position and excellent downhill race yesterday. A solid run now, too, but she is not fast enough and can't repeat yesterday's great result.

19:38 - Götschl, Renate (AUT):

Drop-out! With Renate Goetschl, one of the favorites doesn't finish the race. She hits an icy spot on the slope and slips, barely avoids a fall. After that she risks a lot in the Fallaway, but that was too much. She misses a gate and skies out.

19:38 - Vonn, Lindsey C. (USA):

Another favorite out! Lindsey Vonn hits the same icy spot as Goetschl right before here and slips - no chance to stay on the course.

19:40 - Vonn, Lindsey C. (USA):

Vonn crashes into the safety nets and stays lying there, the medical attendants are with her already.

19:41 - Vonn, Lindsey C. (USA):

She's on her feet again. It took some time to get her out of the safety nets again - but it looks like nothing serious happened. Her face shows the shock of the crash though.

19:44:

The safety net has to be repaired - the race is interrupted.

19:46:

Forerunners are on the course now, soon we will see the next athlete - Anja Pärson.

19:51 - Pärson, Anja (SWE):

Anja Pärson has the difficult task to race after this fall now. No problems for her in the "Vonn-Corner", and good in the Fallaway too. But then she is a little too far off the gates, that costs time. Pärson is 7th in the finish.

19:51 - Stechert, Gina (GER):

Gina Stechert was 25th in the downhill yesterday, an excellent result for the young German. A good run now as well, although she loses quite a bit in the Fallaway. It's the 17th position for her currently.

19:54 - Görgl, Elisabeth (AUT):

Like Hosp, Elisabeth Goergl is in the wrong direction after the Coaches Corner, the countersteering costs quite a lot of time. 1.12 seconds behind in the finish, she is 12th currently.

19:55 - Bent, Nike (SWE):

A good entrance to the Fallaway for Nike Bent, but then she slips and has to fight to hold the track. She is 15th in the finish.

19:56 - Schild, Martina (SUI):

All the favorites have completed their races - is this the first World Cup victory for Martina Schild?

19:57 - Cook, Stacey (USA):

Stacey Cook with difficulties in the steep part - that's no top result for her today. 21st position for the American.

19:59 - Suter, Fabienne (SUI):

Fabienne Suter with difficulties in the Fallaway, but she is still fast! It's the 8th position for the Swiss currently.

20:00 - Jacquemod, Ingrid (FRA):

Ingrid Jacquemod with a good beginning, 0.12 seconds ahead of Schild at the first intermediate. But then she loses time and lacks top speed - 16th in the finish.

20:03 - Ruiz Castillo, Caroline (SPA):

Caroline Ruiz Castillo is next. A technically solid run, but not fast enough to be of danger for the top athletes.

20:05 - Wilhelm, Kathrin (AUT):

A good line in the Fallaway, but Kathrin Wilhelm does not risk enough to reach a good result. She is almost 3 seconds behind in the finish.

20:06:

The best 30 athletes have completed the race. And the podium looks different than expected:

20:07 - Schild, Martina (SUI):

Martina Schild wins her first World Cup race today, congratulations! A bit of a surprise, but she performed excellently on the course and kept best to the line.

20:08 - Riesch, Maria (GER):

An excellent result as well for Maria Riesch, who is the only favorite on the podium.

20:09 - Lindell-Vikarby, Jessica (SWE):

Another surprise then on the 3rd position: Jessica Lindell-Vikarby profits from her early starting position and, of course, her good performance.

20:09 - Zahrobska, Sarka (CZE):

Sarka Zahrobska with a good run now! She is a slalom specialist - and reaches the 14th position here.

20:10 - Fenninger, Anna (AUT):

Andrea Fenninger drops out. The young Austrian has difficulties in the Fallaway and misses a gate.

20:11 - Ceccarelli, Daniela (ITA):

Daniela Ceccarelli with a good performance in the Fallaway passage, but then a mistake in the flat part - 19th position.

20:12 - Holaus, Maria (AUT):

Maria Holaus is off the line for a moment in the Fallaway, that cost time. It's the 14th position for her.

20:13 - Rebensburg, Viktoria (GER):

Viktoria Rebensburg isn't on the course for long. The young German skier misses a gate in the upper part and has to cancel her race.

20:20:

That was the liveticker coverage of the ladies' Super G World Cup in Lake Louise (CAN). Congratulations to Martina Schild, who wins her first World Cup race ahead of Maria Riesch and Jessica Lindell-Vikarby.

20:21:

We will be back on Friday, December 7th, in Aspen (US) with the ladies' downhill race, which is scheduled for 7 p.m. (CET). Until then!
