19:01:
Welcome to the ladie's Super-G. There are poor weather conditions in
Lake Louise today. The start has already been transferred downwards.
19:03 - Kildow, Lindsey C. (USA):
Lindsey Kildow surely is one of the favorites after her performance yesterday.
19:04 - Marchand-Arvier, Marie (FRA):
The Frenchman Marchand-Arvier with starting number one opens the race now.
19:05:
The athletes have to struggle with a strong wind today. We hope for fair conditions.
19:06 - Fanchini, Nadia (ITA):
The Frenchman clocks the first time, but Nadia Fanchini follows right after.
19:08 - Fanchini, Nadia (ITA):
The Italian puts down a good run and underbits the time with more than a second.
19:10 - Lindell-Vikarby, Jessica (SWE):
The Swede lies way behind. But after she had a serious fall this friday, we are all glad, that she is in good health and is able to take part in the race.
19:11 - Berthod, Sylviane (SUI):
Also Berthod can't keep up with Fanchini, but below the Swiss makes up for the lost time and is now second.
19:13 - Schild, Martina (SUI):
Shortly before the intermediate time, Schild loses the line and directly falls behind. But she skies very well below and takes the lead.
19:15 - Alcott, Chemmy (GBR):
Britin Alcott puts down a neat run, which was very close to underbid the minimum time. That was again a good performance.
19:16 - Aufdenblatten, Fränzi (SUI):
Alcott is currently tied with Aufdenblatten, who is cheering at the finish. She is content with her performance.
19:19 - Wirth, Katja (AUT):
Katja Wirth, who was leading at the top, has not enough speed below. There she lies behind.
19:20 - Wilhelm, Kathrin (AUT):
A new leaderl! The Austrian Wilhelm defends her lead from at the upper section and goes up front.
19:21 - Jacquemod, Ingrid (FRA):
Jacquemod with some mistakes at the transition and is directly behind. She can't make it up below.
19:23 - Simard, Genevieve (CAN):
Simard is very fast. It'll be decided below and Simard almost manages it. Still place 2 for her in the moment.
19:25 - Götschl, Renate (AUT):
The ski runs well for Renate Göschl, who attacks here. What a great time. The Austrian has a lead of almost one second.
19:27 - Riesch, Maria (GER):
What a bummer! Maria Riesch loses the line already at the top and lies behind. A totally botched run of the German, who is dissappointed at the finish.
19:29 - Schild, Marlies (AUT):
Marlies Schild botches the entrance to the flat section and shakes her head at the finish. That won't be a top placement for her today.
19:30:
Now come the best 15 riders in the Super-G. The victory will soon be decided.
19:31 - Haltmayr, Petra (GER):
Petra Haltmayr is on the track now.
19:32 - Haltmayr, Petra (GER):
The German put down a good and clear run. Currently place 4.
19:35 - Brydon, Emily (CAN):
Silvia Berger got suddenly sick so that it's for Brydon now: she reaches the 4th place and is now ahead of Haltmayr.
19:36 - Maze, Tina (SLO):
The Slovenian Tina Maze falls far behind. This is not her day.
19:38 - Vanderbeek, Kelly (CAN):
A cheering audience, who appreciate Vanderbeek's performance, he gets on second place.
19:39 - Ludlow, Libby (USA):
Libby Ludlow has big problems with the course and falls far behind. That was not a good run of the American.
19:40 - Görgl, Elisabeth (AUT):
As well as Elisabeth Görgl, who has no chances to attack Götschl's time. At the finish she lies behind with more than 2 seconds. Götschl put down a real good run.
19:42 - Hosp, Nicole (AUT):
Is anyone able to get Götschl off of the lead? Hosp is now trying to. She almost got stuck to a gate and thus falls far behind.
19:45 - Pärson, Anja (SWE):
Anja Pärson has to struggle with the conditions, which are getting worse. Even though she catches up below, she is still behind with more than a second.
19:46 - Clark, Kirsten (USA):
A big margin for the American Kirsten Clark, too. She can better forget this run.
19:47 - Fischbacher, Andrea (AUT):
Fischbacher falls down. She doesn't manage to stay on the skis. Too bad for the young Austrian.
19:49 - Styger, Nadia (SUI):
Unfortunately is has just began to snow a little. Now for the best ones. It follows Nadia Styger from Switzerland.
19:51 - Styger, Nadia (SUI):
Nadia Styger fails as well, she can't achieve the needed speed and lies way behind.
19:52 - Kildow, Lindsey C. (USA):
Kildow goes strong at the top and at least doesn't let the margin increase, but below she loses some time. She still comes in second.
19:55 - Meissnitzer, Alexandra (AUT):
Great performance from Meissnitzer at the top, but she is then risking too much and misses a gate. She is able to prevent from falling down, but drops out.
19:57 - Mancuso, Julia (USA):
Now for Julia Mancuso. She missed the drawing lots for the start. She comes way too late in posture and falls far behind at the top.
19:58 - Rumpfhuber, Ingrid (AUT):
Rumpfhuber is far behind at the finish, as well as Stacey Cook from the USA.
20:00 - Ruiz Castillo, Caroline (SPA):
Ruiz Castillo from Spain puts down a good race and is ranked 20th. She'll probably get World Cup points.
20:02 - Stechert, Gina (GER):
We are awaiting furhter three German athletes. Gina Stechert will soon start into the race with starting number 41.
20:03:
Right afterwards follow Fanny Chmelar and Stefanie Stemmer. Maybe they will make it among the first 30.
20:05 - Dumermuth, Monika (SUI):
The conditions are really poor now. Monika Dumermuth still gets place 22.
20:06 - Stechert, Gina (GER):
The German Gina Stechert succeeds again and puts down a good run. Place 20 for the 19 year-old. She'll get points, too.
20:07 - Chmelar, Fanny (GER):
Now for Fanny Chmelar. She comes closely behind Stechert now, in 22nd place. She lost some time on her way downwards.
20:09 - Janyk, Britt (CAN):
What a clean run from Britt Janyk, who finishes in 11th place.
20:10 - Stemmer, Steffi (GER):
Stefanie Stemmer unfortunately drops out. She comes off the course and misses a gate.
20:12:
Renate Götschl wins the first ladie's Super-G of the season. She put down a real great run. The second place goes to Lindsey Kildow followed by Kelly Vanderbeek.
20:16:
That was it from the ladies Super-G in
Lake Louise. After the cancellation in
St. Moritz, it's not decided, yet, how it'll go on for the ladies in the World Cup. It goes on now with the final of the men's slalom in
Beaver Creek.
