It was amazing: Swiss fans cheered for Mario Matt`s (AUT) last year´s slalom victory over Austrian Benjamin Raich who came in second, and German Felix Neureuther obtained rank three.
The slope Adelboden has been a regular part of the race calendar ever since the founding of the FIS. The giant-slalom on the Kuonisbergli is one of the most demanding, steepest and spectacular runs on the circuit. It’s considered one of the classics, because races were being staged there ten years before the inaugaration of the World Cup. The course on the Kuonisbergli was restructured by the FIS in the year 2000. Eight possible runs were designed, offering a variety of options for women’s and men’s races. The perfect location then for World Cup, European Cup and FIS races.
