Looking back on 2005
Two years ago zhe last events in
Lienz took place. Swedens Anja Pärson clinched the top spot in GS, Nicole Hosp from Austria and Tina Maze came in on places two and three. In the Slalom it was up to Marlies Schild, who has her home race in
Lienz, to win. Again Hosp and Janica Kostelic (CRO) stepped on the podium besides her.
Romantic atmosphere during the christmas season
Being framed by numerous colorful decorated houses lies the the Lienzer main-square. The little shops and bistros invite for a spontaneous shopping tour. The stores' decoration are especially around christmas full of color and beauty. Boutiques selling international fashion, liveries palors that don't need to fear comparisons, delis that answer to any culinary demand and also little stores selling spirits and wine are found all over the place.
Open minded to the world
The great restaurants with their many dishes are also a trademark of
Lienz. From traditional Tiroler taverns over Italian, Chinese and Turkish restaurants to 'Haubenlokalen' for gourmets, from Vienna coffee houses, bistros, pubs, ice cream palors to little coffee shops everyone will find exactly the right thing.
For the whole family
The ski resort Zettersfeld, which is situated on the sunny side of the Lienzer valley ground, offers skiers, snowboarders and also families with children many interesting oppertunities. An experience you won't forget too soon.
