Hello and welcome to the first slalom of the new world cup season. The ladies are going to start at 10a.m.

09:42:

There were actully two slaloms in Levi planned for this weekend. But as there's not enough snow in Finland the races take place on the Reiteralm again.

09:44:

The Reiteralm was already an alternative for worldcup races during the last year.

Austrians won the competitions each time: Marlies Schild in super -combined and Renate Götschl in super-g.

09:49 - Schild, Marlies (AUT):

Marlies Schild is of course the big favorite for today. Last season she won seven of nine slaloms in the worldcup.

09:51 - Hosp, Nicole (AUT):

Therese Borsson and Nicole Hosp won the two other slaloms, Hosp at the worldcup final.

09:53 - Zahrobska, Sarka (CZE):

Another favorite, the world champion Sarka Zahrobska, will open today's race.

10:09 - Schild, Marlies (AUT):

... and as well below the Austrian is strong performing. She finishes with a lead of 0,35 seconds.
