Also Chamonix was influenced by the warm winter in 2007 and had to cancel the men´s speed races. There will be a new try in 2008.

Agenda for 2008
Saturday, January 26th:
Men´s Downhill

Sunday, January 27th:
Men´s Super-Combined

No races in 2007
In French Chamonix the World Cup races couldn´t take place in 2007. Because of heavy rain and high temperatures the pistes couldn´t be prepared. Actually a downhill and a super G should have got started. Val d´Isère replaced the races then.

Review on Chamonix 2006
It wasn´t possible to determine a winner in the downhill competition but before at the men´s super-combined Benjamin Raich (AUT) showed once more that he was the Lord of the winter. In Chamonix world cup-overall-winner 2005/2006 Raich celebrated his fifth victory in front of Rainer Schoenfelder and Bode Miller.

Changes on the slope
In order to meet the increased safety standards, numerous changes have been made to the finishing area and along the course. Safety nets, more than 13 feet high, have been erected at the ‘Ericksen’ jump and the ‘Battendier Schuss’, to guarantee the athlete’s safety. The downhill course itself is 3,343 metres long, (10,968 feet).
