The second men's World Cup venue in North America is again Beaver Creek. Just like the year before, almost all events are on the agenda, the 'little Worlds' in the USA.

2006 in Retrospect
Four races with four different winners from four countries - Beaver Creek was a mixed competition. Aksel Lund Svindal from Norway took the win in the super combined, the downhill had US-racer Bode Miller in front. Italys Massimiliano Blardone won the giant slalom and finally Swedens Andre Myhrer celebrated his first World Cup win in the slalom.


Former World Championships host
In 1999, the World Championships in downhill and super-G were held in Beaver Creek. The World Cup course, ‘Birds of Prey’, is generally held as one of the most difficult runs on the World Cup circuit.

Beaver Creek and Vail
Beaver Creek was built a mere 20 years ago, but the town has already overtaken Vail in terms of exclusivity. In an attempt to meet the wishes of every guest, the resort presents itself as a cocktail of American and European ingredients. The style here was inspired by such locations as St. Moritz, Cortina or Aspen. As in Vail, the combined all-day pass allows access to the neighbouring skiing areas, Keystone, Breckenridge and Arapaphoe Basin. The more than 140 slopes are generally suitable for experienced skiers, but real pros will also find something to their taste. The perfect infrastructure has a price though, and the cost of living is extremely high here.
